In just three years, The Associates' Committee has injected nearly $450,000 into the legal aid community, supporting the work of public interest lawyers in Detroit, Louisiana, San Antonio, Los Angeles, Oakland, New York, and Chicago. The Associates' Committee's 2018 GRANTEES

FreeFrom: $50,000 to expand access to an online tool that allows survivors of domestic violence to pursue economic justice with or without a lawyer.

Asian Americans Advancing Justice-Los Angeles: $40,000 to expand the language offerings of its legal aid hotline.

The Associates' Committee's 2017 GRANTEES

Lawndale Christian Legal Center:  $75,000 to help build a restorative justice community court on Chicago's West Side.

Immigrant Defenders Law Center:  $25,000 to help obtain post-conviction relief for immigrants in Los Angeles, avoiding deportation proceedings.

Equal Justice Under Law:  $25,000 to expand its litigation campaign against the unnecessary suspension of driver's licenses in Detroit and beyond.

Uncommon Law:  $25,000 to provide training, counseling and legal representation to California prisoners serving life sentences with the possibility of parole.

The Associates' Committee's 2016 GRANTEES

Louisiana Center for Children's Rights:  $75,000 to combat the school-to-prison pipeline in Louisiana.

The Chicago Coalition for the Homeless: $25,000 to protect the civil and human rights of Chicago's homeless population.

The Refugee and Immigrant Center for Education and Legal Services (RAICES): $75,000 to advocate for asylum-seekers in the Karnes Detention Facility outside of San Antonio, Texas. 

The Innocence Project: $25,000 to continue its impact litigation project targeting eyewitness testimony, faulty forensic evidence and false confessions in New York and beyond.
